Course description: An intensive hands-on 50 hour workshop demonstrating the basic techniques and materials used in the painting of sets, props, and locations for the television and film industry.

DAY ONE
Morning – An overview of the film industry, from the script to principal photography.Admission requirements of the paint.,department ( lecture format).
Afternoon – The use of paints and fillers to imitate drywall, metal, rock,and concrete surfaces (hands on workshop).
DAY TWO
Morning – The role of the painter in the industry. Painting for the camera and the designer.The use of film painting techniques(lecture format).
Afternoon – Professional house-painting tips and the proper use of brushes and rollers. Basic colour-matching(hands-on).
DAY THREE
Morning – Construction shop and set etiquette. Painting on location (lecture format).
Afternoon – Proper and artistic use of spray equipment (hands-on).
DAY FOUR
All day – Paint chemistry and paint magic. Types of aging and distressing of film sets (all day hands on workshop).
DAY FIVE
All day – Wet on wet marbling and wood-graining (all day hands-on workshop).
